AC Halloween Spooktacular Festival
Every fall before Halloween is the Antelope Crossing Halloween Spooktacular in Citrus Heights. More often referred to as the AC Halloween Spooktacular (and also the Halloween and Harvest Festival), this event is a free public event perfect for people of all ages. So far the event is in its 8th year running and has attracted people from all around the greater Sacramento area. Guests are entertained by magic shows, live musical performances, and much more family oriented performances and activities. Then there’s the traditional carnival rides and games where you can win your favorite prizes. When you’re ready to take a break, stroll through the Craft, Vendor, and Health Fair section to find whatever you might be looking for; you might just surprise yourself with a special purchase. The main event of the festival is the Children’s Costume Contest, sure to excite any kid ready to win big with an awesome costume.
Every year the event is held at the Summerhill Plaza at the Antelope Crossing Commercial Center.
Red, White, and Blue Parade
The parade takes place in June of each year and takes place going down the city center. The usual street vendors and food trucks are present, and applications are accepted for dance teams and bands to join the parade. The parade was originally organized as a parade to celebrate the birthday of Citrus Heights but eventually came to be a memorial parade for victims of the 9/11 attacks. This annual event is a patriotic warm up for the coming July 4th celebration and the summer that arrives.
Citrus Heights Annual Egg Hunt
On Easter Day every year Citrus Heights has its annual egg hunt festival. The event takes place at Rusch Park in the city itself. Fun games, entertaining booths, and the main event of the day is the Easter Egg hunt for the kids. Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Citrus Heights, it’s always a fun excellent day for kids and everyone of all ages who attend.
