Exciting Festivals in Fair Oaks California
Fair Oaks, CA already has so much for its residents to do year round it can be hard to remember there are fun festivals to attend every year. The families and other residents in Fair Oaks have a great community already, from the helpful police departments to the great school systems, it’s no wonder there are great annual events. One of the best things about living in a large county like Sacramento county is that there are not only the Fair Oaks festivals, but numerous events in neighboring towns and cities as well! But Fair Oaks has a few big ones. Here are the biggest, most exciting annual festivals in Fair Oaks California.
The Chicken Festival is held every year in September to honor Fair Oaks tiny residents: wild chickens and roosters. These feathered packs roam around as freely as the human citizens, and have come to be not only tolerated but celebrated.
The event itself features an old-school breakfast, microbrew beer tasting, vendors of food, drink, and other goods, crafts for kids, and even dancing held in the streets. Around 15,000 attend every year for a good time.
Pan Gaia Festival
An interesting magic and nature themed event held for the past 15 years, the Pan Gaia Festival also gives a large part of its earnings to local charity.
According to the official Pan Gaia Festival website, the festival is about the fostering of joyful relationship and love in the great community and to help create a fun-filled event for everyone who wish to celebrate Litha, the Summer Solstice, with joyful, friendly people.
Vendors, contests, activities for children, music and live performers, and more are all included in the days event. There is even an after-event event called PanGaia After Dark for those looking for entertainment for adults, after the main festival is over.
The PanGaia Festival in Fair Oaks is held every year in June, to celebrate the changing of the seasons to Summer time.
Also known as Fair Oaks Fiesta by the locals, this is a two day event held every year in May to celebrate the end of winter the coming of Spring.
Many families attend, with the yearly attendance rate reaching over 10,000 people. The two days worth of entertainment include games (wacky ones like a toilet bowl race), activities for kids, contests, parade and a carnival, and in recent years a 5k race has been added. The funniest favorite contests have traditionally been the toilet bowl race and a frog jumping contest, where contestants can bring their own frogs or borrow one at the event.
The Far Oaks SpringFest (or Fiesta) is great family fun that anyone looking for a fun couple of days after winter will enjoy.
Residents in Fair Oaks never seem to be without something fun to do.
